Turkeys.  Food.  Fellowship.  Yum!   While these are some things that might preoccupy us this season, I just want to join you in giving thanks to our Almighty One!   By His grace, we are where we are and are able to rejoice and thank Him in all things that He had done.  Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for our sins. Online Shopping? Send school supplies to the children  of farmers in the Philippines when you do your online shopping here.   Sponsored by the Youth Project Summer 2018.   I want to thank God for wisdom.   I may not have a lot of them and in this day and age, who can afford not to have them.   These past few weeks, God has been teaching me about wisdom through the study of 1 Kings and the life of King Solomon.  In 1 Kings 3, I see that God wants us to learn, to long and to live wisdom in our lives.  In Proverbs 4, Solomon challenges us to love wisdom.   God delights to give wisdom and to give it liberally to those who ask  for (cf.  James 1:5). Praise Go

HANDLING THE “FALL SEASON” OF LIFE Student Notes From the series How to Manage the Seasons of Life Speaker:   Pastor Bong Abagon (You may request a transcript of sermon thru email at michaelabagon@gmail.com)  o    The Winter Season , a time for planning, self-reflection, hibernation, o    The Spring Season, a stage of dynamic thinking and learning opportunity and o    The Summer Season , where there is a sense of reward, fulfillment and celebration.  The Fall Season is where there is problem, mistake or characterized by transition.    This triggers disappointment, stress and frustration. TWO EXAMPLES OF "FALL SEASON" OF LIFE IN THE BIBLE.   Two bible characters you need to be studying this week and the weeks to come:   (1) Abraham.   Gen. 12:1- 5 (2)   Job.    Job 1:13-20.    These are two things that we immediately learn from Abraham and Job:   Obedience and Worship.     HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU ARE IN A “FALL SEASON” OF LIFE 1.      Your conscie

An Effective Witness (John 4:7-26)

John the beloved wrote the gospel of John with one intention, "that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah and that by believing in Him you will have everlasting life" (John 20;30).   It is irresistible however to look at the pattern of how Jesus conversed with the Samaritan to everlasting life.  Let's examine four things that stands out with His conversation with the woman of the well. Bridge the natural to spiritual (v. 7-15) Speak of contextual repentance (v.16-18) Process individuals spiritually (v.19-25) End with Jesus (v.26) Bridge the Natural to Spiritual Jesus used the physical water as a setting to point the Samaritan woman to a deep discussion of the spiritual water.    Jesus is a natural apologist because he took the physical realm (water) and argue towards "eternal life."  We see this reasoning with people using the physical elements when he had a deep conversation with his disciples about reaping and harvesting (v. 34-37).  He kept

Engaging The Truth Conference at Nueva Ecijah Philippines

Engaging The Truth Conference May 9-11, 2017 Dr. Pat Zukeran and I will lead a pastors conference in Nueva Ecijah.  The Retreat setting is limited and we expect at least 20 pastors who will join us.   I am humbled by Pat's willingness to travel all the way to the central north of the Philippines.  Considering that he has other speaking engagements South of Manila, he gladly accepted and accommodated this request.  I would like to ask for your prayers.   We want to equip and encourage our pastors in the Philippines. I believe that Philippines is at the birth of revival and the gospel will take hold of the hearts of many people.   These pastors are in the middle of that making.   Only God can make this happen.  Plead with us that God through his rich mercy and grace bring people closer to him through Jesus our Lord.    Pat and and I will be in Nueva Ecijah at Sta Barbara Christian Fellowship.  Please message us on facebook for more information.  We wish to bless the

Personal Evangelism and Church Evangelism  This is a presentation given at Life Church Nuuanu Goal:   To present a healthy approach between personal and church evangelism and to encourage Life Church in the area of evangelism as a whole. Probing the balance between personal evangelism and church evangelism.   Introduction: 1.      EVANGELISM is first and foremost the work of God.   2.      Understand the difference between personal evangelism and church evangelism.    3.      Take advantage of the dynamics personal evangelism and church evangelism offer. Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV) “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.   Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.   And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Personal Evangelism and Church evangel
