Pray for Lahaina, Maui

The tragedies of life are upon us all the time.   It's part of nature and it is in creation.  Where is God in all of these?  He is here and He has never left us.   It is in these sufferings we will see God's beauty and grandeur.

"All things work together for good to them that love God and to them who are the called according to his purpose."  Romans 8:28

There are no words to explain the tragedy that had visited Lahaina Maui in the past few days.   The fire has left a town leveled to the ground.   Jesus reminds us to clothe the naked and to feed the hungry (Matt. 25:35-36).   Helping Lahaina Maui is a top priority for FBC of Wahiawa.   Here is how you can help:

1.  Pray that God gives hope to the weary and timely help to those in need.   The updated prayer request is available below.

2.  Donate Money - Your money can expedite the help necessary on the ground.  Give this Sunday or go to our website for online giving.

3.  Give in Kind - Honolulu Convention Center will house 4000 individuals in the next few days.  They are ready to accommodate 1000 as we speak.  The city welcomes help of this kind (only this kind):  Water, pillows, blankets, towels, baby food/formula, diapers/wipes, and toiletries.   Drop them off at the church and we will hand them off to the proper channels.

4.  Be ready - Disaster Relief (DR) of the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention will sound out a call on how we can better help in the "long run."  Let's be ready!

Let's continue to pray for Lahaina Maui and the other affected areas.

Aloha,

Pastor Bong
