My Spiritual Viewpoint (my only viewpoint) In This Coming Election

There is one good thing that had come out from this coming election - my dismay led me to research and understand the real issues behind the candidates and their agendas.

As a Christian, there is nothing more that I value than God's gift of eternal life and the opportunity to share it to others.  Whether that be in a persecuted environment or an environment friendly with the gospel - I'll share it anyway!

There's another thing that I value most - the freedom to live for Christ in America.  While nothing determines my passion to live for Christ except my love for Jesus - I value the core principles America has when it comes to treating religious people.

However, the recent years have not been encouraging.

This election, I plan to vote based on important issues that relates to my Christian Faith.

The Christians Responsibility

  1. Prayer.  There is no other place to begin with but in the heart of God.  Daniel had been living as a slave in captivity for 67 years when he poured out his heart to God on behalf of his people after they had come under God's judgment.  Anne Graham Lots explains Daniel 9:1-23 as a prayer that hopefully prompts us to pray in behalf of our nation.
  2. Participate.  Dr. Adrian Rogers encourages Christians to (a) Pray For government (b) Pay For Government (c) Preach to Government and (d) to Participate in Government.  Nothing can be more simpler than to obey Christ and do as he commands, "Give to Ceasar what is to Ceasar." To vote is to do just that.   Click here for more information.

Did you know that nearly 30 million evangelicals failed to make their way to the voting booth in the last election cycle. We must not repeat that mistake again this November.

Know The Issue

  1. Supreme Court Justices.   Whoever sits on the oval office will get to appoint liberal or conservative justices.  The truth of the matter is, the fight for religious freedom, for the life of the unborn and many civil issues are fought on the court.
Franklin Graham states, "...The next president will appoint several Supreme Court justices (three of the current eight are 77 or older), so this election will profoundly affect generations to come."
Will they do everything they can to protect the life of the unborn child? Will they fight for the religious freedom that is guaranteed under the Constitution? Will they fully support the rights of men and women of faith to act in accordance with their sincerely held religious beliefs?
Will they defend our nation against Islamic terrorists who have slaughtered and killed innocents across our country in the name of their god? Will they call the enemy—radical Islam—by its name? Will they work to strengthen our military so the United States of America can continue to be the dependable guardian of the free world?
Will they defend the Biblical sanctity of marriage as between one man and one woman, and do all they can to protect the family unit? Will they continue to lead us down the road of irresponsible socialism, where the Biblical injunction for hard, honest work is ignored? Or will we embrace a resurgence of vigorous entrepreneurship and industry that has been a hallmark of our nation since its founding?
Will they appoint judges to the Supreme Court and federal courts who respect and uphold the safeguards of the U.S. Constitution? Judges who refuse to interpret the law based on decadent ideology and liberal political agendas that are directly opposed to the fundamental tenets of religious freedom?
 2.  Casting A Vote For Religious Freedom is a Q and A with Pastor David Jeremiah.  He is  the pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church and is the featured speaker on the internationally syndicated Turning Point radio and television broadcast.

"Were down to the point where we need to elect somebody whom we're pretty certain won't be against us, somebody who will allow us to live out our faith. "
 3.  Is Religious Liberty in great peril?  Note these examples and you tell me if it is not.

  • In Oregon, Aaron and Melissa Klein were forced to close their bakery, Sweet Cakes by Melissa, and they face a potential fine of $135,000, for declining to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding.
  • Also in Oregon, Marion County Circuit Judge Vance Day faces the possibility of being removed from the bench, in part for declining to perform same-sex weddings.
  • In Washington, florist Barronelle Stutzman faces personal and professional ruin if the state’s Supreme Court upholds a lower court ruling against her because she declined to design custom floral arrangements for a longtime customer’s same-sex wedding and referred the customer to nearby florists.
  • The Stormans family, owners of a pharmacy in Olympia, Wash., have been ordered to sell abortion-causing drugs in violation of their Christian views. The day before the Decision America rally in Olympia, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to take up the case, allowing the lower court’s order to stand.

Where Do Candidates Stand

(Decision Magazine, p. 22) Many decisions are made at the president's desk, but the major political party to which he or she belongs yields significant power over which domestic and international polls are advanced and what becomes law.  Click here for the summary of the parties' positions on some of the vital issues facing the country.

Local Issues (Hawaii)

If you have not done your homework for this election, you might as well bring a cup of coffee (or two) with a sandwich because it might just take you a little longer to chose for your candidates and to answer 20 amendment questions.  Study it now.

Go to google and type in "sample ballot" to see what kind of questions and  who are the local politicians you have to chose from.  Or better yet, click here.
